Content Objective: SWBAT explain the 3 major economic systems of the world

Language Objectives: SW, with small groups, discuss economies and come up with a summary & write summary on the white board/in notes

1. Read section about economies, independently

2. Split into assigned groups to discuss assigned economy and create a summary to explain to the class

3. Write summary in specific grid on white board for notes (copy in notes)

---Requirements for book report

1. Must choose a book from my list

2. Only one student will be allowed per book

3. Must read at least 3 hours a week (30 minutes, 6 days)

4. Will be required to answer the following questions and present it to the class

-Title

-Author:

-When and where does story take place?

A. Time    B. Place

-Who is the story about?

-Characters

-Write a descriptive paragraph of at least 5 sentences, about the most interesting character or subject in the book.

-What happened in the story or to the subject of the book? (Summarize the book)

-Using quotes from the book, how does the story tie into our Government class?

-Using what you have learned about US Government in class or from the media, compare the foreign, or past, government in your book to today’s US Government.  Use facts, not opinion.

-Evaluation: What were the things you especially liked or disliked about the book? Would you recommend the book for another person? Why or why not?
